World ID for Zoom is now available in the Zoom Marketplace. Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital, and VanEck Funds are initial design partners utilizing the technology.
Business runs on digital meetings. Companies often make vital decisions on Zoom, including closing deals, holding board votes, and approving fund transfers. During these connections, it is important that the people on the other side of the screen are real.
As synthetic video and audio grow more lifelike, seeing someone on live video is no longer a guarantee that they are who they appear to be or that they are even a person. According to a 2025 Gartner survey of cybersecurity leaders, 62% of respondents said their organization had been subjected to a deepfake attack in the previous year.
World ID for Zoom was built to help provide an added layer of trust in video communications. Previewed earlier this year, World ID for Zoom is now available to Zoom’s enterprise customers globally through the Zoom Marketplace. With this integration, participants have another helpful tool to help confirm whether the person they are in a video meeting with is a real human.
How World ID for Zoom works
World ID for Zoom, which runs on AWS, is designed to help confirm that a participant is a real person during calls in three steps:
How to get started
Step 1

Claim a Proof of Human
Individuals can claim their Proof of Human by visiting an Orb, which can be installed at their place of work, brought to their door, or found at a growing number of locations.
Step 2
Present a Proof of Human
After claiming their Proof of Human and storing it on their mobile device in World ID app, participants can connect their World ID to their Zoom account. When prompted during a meeting, they tap a notification on their phone and take a selfie in the app.
Step 3

Adam Park
Display a Human Badge
Once completed, the participant’s Zoom tile displays a Human Badge, which is visible to all meeting participants.
Organizations and hosts can customize the World ID for Zoom experience and configure how long a Human Badge stays active before the participant must reauthenticate. Hosts can soon enable a World ID for Zoom Waiting Room, in which participants present their Proof of Human prior to joining the meeting. Hosts can also request that participants present Proofs during the meeting.
How World ID for Zoom is different from deepfake detection
Deepfake detection typically works by analyzing the frames of a video and trying to predict whether a given image is a deepfake. This can lead to an arms race between deepfake detection and creation. In that race, even a single undetected deepfake could have catastrophic consequences.
World ID for Zoom takes a different approach. It provides a safe connection through cryptographic Proof of Human by matching three different images:
- The Orb image, which was cryptographically signed during the process of claiming a Proof of Human. This image provides a ground truth and cannot be deepfaked or changed.
- A selfie taken as part of the liveness check within World ID app. This image is taken on the participant’s own device.
- A frame of the video that others see when the participant is on Zoom. This is the actual video feed during a call.

For the Human Badge to be presented, all three images must match. The result is a hardware-backed root of trust, designed to assure others that the meeting participant is indeed the individual who is expected to be there. The integration is built on Zoom’s Realtime Media Streams and analyzes video only, not audio or transcripts.
Built for high-stakes video connections
World ID for Zoom brings deepfake protection to the important video connections that take place within an organization as well as with external parties. It is purpose-built for industries where the stakes are high, including banking and financial services, technology, professional services, healthcare and life sciences, government and the public sector, and academia and research.
To make the product more broadly available, Tools for Humanity has joined the Zoom ISV Exchange Program, bringing access to World ID for Zoom to Zoom business customers. Through the partnership, Zoom customers can host Orbs, the hardware individuals use to claim their Proof of Human, in their offices.
Organizations can request a demo of World ID for Zoom.
Individuals can download World ID app and find an Orb to claim their Proof of Human and join the real human network.
